I'm just experimenting. I hate the word "blog" and am fascinated with how the net seems to nurture *everyone's* vanity.

Evil did me right by starting his own thread on the "what's a thief" question. But a few posts later in that Grammar nazi sprawl thread, QuietlyObserving says "If we are to be a society founded on the Rule of Law, it would be prudent to maintain a healthy respect for language and the meaning of words, lest we slip into a dictatorship of unelected Judges."

This gives me a painfully beautiful opportunity to start a sister thread to Evil's, and ask you all to sink your fangs, fingers, etc., into the basic question "How does a law rule without a human to interpret and/or execute it?"

That's my latest hasty attempt at a longstanding interest in the gov't-of-law-and-not-men notion that's very popular here in the US. I've also known a few linguists and flirted with other philosphies enough to be taken aback by anyone who has too much certainty about the meaning of a particular word or phrase.

Unless you're a minor with parents who don't want you seeing PG-13 movies (I know we have some sharp youth out there, just want to respect your folks), I suggest finding and playing fword.wav before you finish a reply here.

serial killers are not crazy they are sane and intellegent

otherwise they couldn't plan this killings in such a way as not to get caught for as long as possible

and i do not buy the my daddy didn't hug me enough so i will take it out on everybody around me defense

becouse my father hated me and so did my mother

and the only people i take it out on is my father and right now i live with my father doing what i can to help him

so again i don't buy that defense

but if anyone has been driven crazy becouse of that they will go to heaven

just before cain killed able

Ge 4:6 And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?
Ge 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

This?

This is not giving Cain command over Satan.
This was a warning to Cain that if he did not rule over his temptations and evil desires, those temptations and evil desires would rule over him.

Cain failed.

thou and thee is cain

his and him is satan

on Jan 23, 2007
And if Cain had ruled over Satan, he would not have killed Abel.

Like I said, he failed.

ok if you say so

cain didn't rule over satan until after he killed able

Wrong, just because you are morally unstable doesnt mean you are not intelligent. I did not mean crazy in the sense that they were not in touch with reality. I meant it in the way that they were truely Anti-social meaning they did not have a moral compass or concience. Thats why so many serial killers do their killings in such ritualistic and disgruntling(and disgusting) pattern. I read one court case where the man was accused of murdering several children and then dipping them in a vat of acid untill they disolved so he could eat them. And at the court trial, his only defense was "children are tasty". Now, thats not sane is it, yet he was able to accomplish many killings and stay illusive.

And as for abuse, i didnt mean inatentive parents. No i meant out right abuse, sexual usually, sometimes severe physical and emotional as well. If your going to say thats not traumatic enough, that what is?

i was mentally abused

i have clinical depression

anti depression meds don't work on me

As far as I know, and as far as the Bible indicates, Jesus has been the only one to have ruled completely over Satan.

Ruling over Satan means Satan has no power or influence over you.

We may get a lucky shot in now and then with the help of the Holy Spirit, but none of us can say that we are, have been, or will be sinless.
on Jan 23, 2007
Theres a difference in the severity of the abuse. And the fact that they dont work on you is most likely chemical, your body probably rejects them. And clinical depression is suffered by over 20 million Americans, its the common cold of mental illnesses.

You cannot generalise about people, everyone is different and everyone has a different story to tell about how they have lived in the world and been influenced by genes and or environment.

What is to 'sin'?
The defenition has been changed so many times.
I mean just two centuries ago, people were born sinful. And i have always wondered how that was possible.

In my opinion, even though we all 'sin' it doesnt necessarily make us bad people. All of life's entralments must be experienced or else life is not truely worth living. As long as that is done with respect to the individuals around you.

ok here is a question for everyone

who will be your judge
on Jan 23, 2007
Its never just gense or the enviorment, of course behavioralist would argue it is. I am a firm believer that genes play more of an important role, when you are born you automatically have physical and mental limitations. The enviorment just hones some of them in and makes you even less an individual. In reality, with shock theorapy, i would be able to teach and control anyone i want.
on Jan 23, 2007
My judge would be society, my friends, my family and myself. When i die i want to know i lived well, and knowing that i wont really care what will happen in the afterlife(if there is one).
